There are certain things in life that occupy that untraceable space between the ennui of daily life and a more defined reality in constant flux. Making pictures that investigate cultural and societal norms, perceptions of truth and reality always continue to inform my work.

This sensible dimension of questioning and investigating issues, is the space I navigate when making pictures, while often finding myself with unwanted memories and unanswered questions. This tension weaves itself into poetic tapestries of ideas, revolving endlessly in familiar places. In such escapist moments I turn the camera lens toward these people and places: I hear them whispering ballads about imaginary places where fable and dream, reality and fiction, eclipse one another. These pictures reflect an intention to bridge the staged tableau and documentary styles in photography. The work is a fusion of projects conceived and impulses that drive them. Ultimately trying to figure out the images’ own resonance in a vernacular of love and emptiness, excitement and disillusion. Thus creating a path where process and end result are both equally significant. In my pictures, ordinary time and space, desires and fears, illusions and fantasies, are always present. It is here then where I let myself in, lingering... listening... forgetting... adoring.
