There are certain things in life that occupy that untraceable space between the ennui of daily life and a more defined reality that fuses in constant flux. This sensible dimension is the space I navigate when making pictures. It is often that I find myself with unwanted memories and unanswered questions. And is this displacing tension that forms and weaves itself into poetic tapestries of ideas revolving endlessly in familiar places.

In such escapist moments I turn the camera lens toward these people or places. And in these brief moments of engagement I hear their whispering ballads about imaginary places where fable and dream eclipse one another until both become unrecognizable—in my head’s eye.

Whether the photographs are film based or digital composites, it is in them that ordinary time and space become my dreams, desires, fears and fantasies. I let myself in, and linger on... listening... forgetting... adoring...
